Clever Dialogue That Stops Right on Time

September 1, 2014

Single sketch comedy videos are common on YouTube and in these two examples writer/director Daniel Johnson is getting the script just right.

The actors he’s got really help the videos, too. We’ve all seen videos where there’s something not right…we can see the potential, but the laugh doesn’t materialise.

That’s often down to the actors, but in both these sketch videos the talent plays it just right.

I generally like my comedy played straight, but if it’s going to be played comical, then I’d rather see embarrassment, over-enthusiasm or something like that.

Any hint that the actor is smiling at the part, the lines, or is anywhere else except in the scene results in instant death.

But well done in this case: They’re funny.
