Kilmarnock Road Tsunami

January 13, 2015

The other day I was leading a two car convoy looking for a coffee shop in south Glasgow.

I saw it was boarded up, so a little further on I pulled into the kerb to speak with my friend driving the car behind.

I was concentrating on her car in the rearview mirror, but I glimpsed a water-filled pothole at a bus stop and swerved.

I indicated to pull out again and kept moving, but then my rear wheel plopped into the pothole.

In my peripheral vision I saw a large wave burst across a woman and her child in a push chair, a pensioner and a guy in a wheelchair.

In my rearview mirror I saw three shocked faces, looking in my direction as if to say: “Why did you do that?????”

I don’t feel good about that, but we did laugh about it in the cafe we later found.
