The perils of txting

November 11, 2014

Just as I strode round the corner I saw a bloke in a suit emerge from the lift and march straight into the women’s toilets.

I went into the men’s, then came out a minute later and summoned the lift by pressing the button.

Just then the door of the women’s loos opened and the suit came out.

He stood beside me, reading his mobile phone, not looking at me.

The lift arrived and we stepped in, but before the doors closed, a woman emerged from the women’s loos, ran across the landing and got into the lift.

She looked faintly unsettled. We both looked at the suit on the mobile.

“Ground floor?” I asked.

Hey looked up at me and said, “Thanks,” then went back to txting.
