The sofa that got away

December 2, 2014

It’s relatively easy for a man in his late 40s to find a suitable room for rent in a shared house in London.

But not so in Glasgow; I’ve been searching online for 10 days and most people specify 20-30 year olds preferred.

Ughh.

I mean, I wear jeans (badly). I know who Rita Ora is (isn’t she in Corrie?). I txt people (wait, is that like a fax?).

Anyway…and then someone I’ve never met texted me this afternoon and offered to let me crash while I find somewhere to stay.

It stood out in a handful of emails and texts I received after a chum circulated a friend-needs-a-room-to-rent email on my behalf.

Isn’t that kind. [Rhetorical – do not email me with answers.]

Right, that’s it. I’m going to do a good deed for the next person who requires help. (Please God, let it not be migrating an email account…)

Oh and no, I didn’t take up the offer. Instead they get an anonymous mention in this stoopid blog.
